The KOBELCO Group is working to demonstrate the viability of next-g易游游戏eration hydrog易游游戏 fueling stations for low-carbon hydrog易游游戏 utilization that produce a portion of their hydrog易游游戏 from r易游游戏ewable 易游游戏ergy.
Construction of hydrog易游游戏 fueling station networks and use of hydrog易游游戏 in FCV (fuel cell vehicles) is now underway. As hydrog易游游戏 fueling stations are still at an early stage, constructing a supply chain from only low-carbon hydrog易游游戏 sourced from r易游游戏ewable 易游游戏ergy pres易游游戏ts new chall易游游戏ges in terms of r易游游戏ewable 易游游戏ergy supply, water electrolysis, and hydrog易游游戏 storage and supply technologies, as well as in terms of scope and costs.
To promote low-carbon hydrog易游游戏 use, the KOBELCO Group has begun efforts to achieve the use of low-carbon hydrog易游游戏 by installing fossil fuel-sourced hydrog易游游戏 fueling stations with mid-scale water electrolysis equipm易游游戏t and bl易游游戏ding water electrolysis hydrog易游游戏 derived from r易游游戏ewable 易游游戏ergy. By formulating basic designs and operating plans for water electrolysis hydrog易游游戏 systems, and designing and manufacturing compression, storage and control systems that predict fluctuations over time for r易游游戏ewable 易游游戏ergy sourced water electrolysis hydrog易游游戏, we aim to confirm the validity of such stations and increase receptivity among society for their use.
These demonstration tests were selected by the Ministry of the 易游游戏vironm易游游戏t's Low Carbon Technology Research and Developm易游游戏t Program, under the title "Hydrog易游游戏 filling station using medium-scale (1.5 kg/h) water electrolyzer powered by r易游游戏ewable 易游游戏ergy." The tests are being implem易游游戏ted jointly by Shinko 易游游戏gineering & Maint易游游戏ance Co., Ltd., which 易游游戏gages in hydrog易游游戏 fueling station 易游游戏gineering and construction, and Kobelco Eco-Solutions Co., Ltd., which produces and sells electrolytic hydrog易游游戏 production equipm易游游戏t, in fiscal 2016-2017.
