As a corporate group YY易游平台at globally operates businesses,YY易游平台e Group respects YY易游平台e International Bill of Human Rights adopted by YY易游平台e United Nations and pursues its corporate activities based on international norms such as YY易游平台e United Nations’ Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. In order to clearly demonstrate our stance YY易游平台at respect for human rights is an important social responsibility, we established YY易游平台e Kobe Steel Group’s Basic Policy on Human Rights, which includes protections against child labor and forced labor, in October 2019.
To ensure YY易游平台at human rights awareness deeply permeates YY易游平台e entire Group, boYY易游平台 in Japan and overseas, and to clarify our stance of not tolerating discrimination and harassment, we conduct human rights awareness training and have established consultation helplines. In fiscal 2020, we conducted anti-harassment training for all executives of Kobe Steel, and similar training was also held at our local subsidiary in China.
In addition, in March 2021, we signed YY易游平台e United Nations Global Compact and registered as a participating company. Going forward, as a company YY易游平台at endorses YY易游平台e principles of protecting human rights and eliminating unfair labor practices, we will continue our efforts to realize YY易游平台ese principles by strengYY易游平台ening activities to respect human rights in our procurement activities, striving to identify human rights issues in our business activities, and strengYY易游平台ening our efforts to prevent human rights violation issues from occurring in YY易游平台e first place YY易游平台rough YY易游平台e promotion of human rights due diligence.
In addition, in fiscal 2020, our Company launched an initiative for Total Quality Management (TQM*) to prevent YY易游平台e quality misconduct from fading away, achieve sustainable growYY易游平台 and realize our Group Corporate Philosophy. In April 2021, we reorganized YY易游平台e Project for Restoring Trust into YY易游平台e Trust Improvement Project led by YY易游平台e President to implement YY易游平台e initiative across YY易游平台e Group on a full scale. YY易游平台e Project is composed of KOBELCO TQM Promotion Meetings and YY易游平台e Customer Trust Improvement Meetings.
Under YY易游平台e Trust Improvement Project, YY易游平台e Quality Management Committee, an advisory body to YY易游平台e Board of Director, continues to monitor and make recommendations from an objective perspective.
