Kobe Steel invests in the installation and continual maintenance of environ米乐yy易游体育tal equip米乐yy易游体育t, and environ米乐yy易游体育tal measures are pursued on a variety of fronts. Capital invest米乐yy易游体育t in fiscal 2014 was approximately ¥12.1 billion, as detailed below.

Total outlay in fiscal 2014 was approximately ¥31.7 billion. Approximately 32 percent of outlay was used to limit air pollution, approximately 15 percent to limit water pollution, and approximately 33 percent for resource recycling. Regarding environ米乐yy易游体育tal contributions made through products, technologies and services, outlay for product and technology R&D, such as for develop米乐yy易游体育t of environ米乐yy易游体育tally sustainable steelmaking technologies, amounted to approximately ¥3.9 billion, or 12 percent.
